Remove time-sucking apps from the front page of your smartphone. You don't have to delete them (if you're not willing), just put them on a back page so they won't immediately distract you every time you check your phone. I put Instagram and Twitter on my phone's back page.
Wherever possible, pay all your bills at the beginning of the month - not when you actually receive the bill in the mail. Then you know exactly how much money you have for the rest of the month and can save and spend accordingly (i.e., the lazy lady's guide to budgeting).
Check your bank account balance every day. You'll unconsciously make a greater effort to save money, and you'll be more likely to catch card thieves in the act (I speak from experience...)
Cancel your subscription to Dropbox, don't buy the massive hard-drive - just backup your work on an old memory key that stays mounted in your laptop at all times.
